Work, Work, Work

So our booth backdrop arrived and our setup looks pretty great at the CBRNe South America show.

Our booth is one of only 2 or 3 that's this big, so needless to say we're getting a fair bit of attention.  We've made some key contacts for our future business in Brazil, and Matt and I are stoked!  Even after the first day of the conference, the trip has already been worth it from a work perspective.

The conference is from 8a-5p both days, so I haven't been able to catch any rays since the first day here.  Tomorrow will be a different story though - Ipanema Beach here we come!  If you have any paparazzi intel on where Prince Harry is hanging out, please feel free to share. :)

Lauren went on an open jeep jungle excursion yesterday while I was cooped up indoors.  She saw a waterfall that was maybe 20 ft. high and went on a "hike" that lasted about 15 minutes.  She met some people and got some good info on where to go and where not to go at night to samba though.  I'm convinced that people are in a hungover hibernation since Carnival just ended in Rio, but we'll make the best of it.

So remember that time I said the Sheraton was excellent?  I'll downgrade that rating just a bit to "great" after being here a few nights.  The views are gorgeous, but there have got to be nicer accommodations in the area that have elevators that work properly and don't have a dinging noise that makes you crazy.  This is all before you add in the fact that there's some mystery dog in the area that barks nonstop and a shower curtain that doesn't really keep the water off the floor.  If we would have known that there was a separate switch on the other side of the room from the thermostat to actually turn on the air conditioning, we would have been far more comfortable the first two nights.  Haha!  I also would have been able to shower yesterday morning if our alarm clock worked.  Thank goodness I actually woke up before the conference started!

Lauren and I have had our fair share of laughs about it all, trust me.  We're both so incredibly thankful and blessed to be here though, don't get me wrong.  We're definitely enjoying the private beach, pool, comfy beds, and incredible weather.  It's been a fantastic time making memories already, and we're only 3 days into the trip.
